Hello world!

With the guidance and skills of Sue Dobbe & Lisa Foster at Dobbe Marketing, a lovely new Abiding Yoga Therapy website has been birthed. Thank you, Sue & Lisa (and our talented web designer Michael at Arise Advertising Arts) for bringing a fresh new face to the internet. Also, thank you to Catherine Carroll, Jen Garcia, Monica Szalaj, and Jeff & Barb Evans for your inspired testimonials. (Another shout out to Catherine for being such a lovely model, too.)

The theme of communication has been swirling around me for the past few months–in my conversations with friends, with family, with students. Now there is this beautiful new website, too – another way to connect.

The Merriam Webster dictionary defines communication as this:

: the act or process of using words, sounds, signs, or behaviors to express or exchange information or to express your ideas, thoughts, feelings, etc., to someone else

: a message that is given to someone : a letter, telephone call, etc.

In the world of yoga, we are always trying to attune to what our bodies, hearts, & minds are trying to say to us. Our marvelously and miraculously designed bodies give us lots of clues: gentle signals like stiffness or little twinges ; bigger ones like pain; huge ones like frozen joints. It is all communication. We practice, we come to class, we breathe, we pay attention, and we listen and learn, again and again. And when we don’t – you know what happens! Injury, immune system impairment, fractious relationships with our families & friends, depression, misery.

So, let’s continue to pay attention, to communicate lovingly with our whole beings – our minds, our bodies, our hearts.

And thanks for listening!
